In 1851, Salt Lake City was incorporated, and the former owner McCunes donated 20 acres of his property to the Mormon Church in the 1920s. After the death of George Wallace, the first president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 20 acres became the Salt Lake City cemetery in George.
